In this course, students will be armed with the skills needed for the installation, configuration and administration of WAS 6.1 (Network Deployment Edition), and for the deployment of applications in the WAS environment. The course starts with a basic introduction to J2EE (as it pertains to WAS6.1 admin) and the WebSphere family of products, followed by coverage of the installation and configuration of WAS 6.1. It includes in-depth exploration of WAS administration, application deployment, workload and security management, topics in troubleshooting, and performance monitoring and tuning. Particular emphasis is placed on using scripting to perform administrative tasks. Network Deployment topics are covered such as designing, building and managing cells, working with HTTP servers as managed processes, creating and managing clusters, and cell topology analysis.....[more]
