Course Description:

This SSIS 2005 Training course will enable technology professionals with little or no ETL experience and minimal exposure to SQL Server 2005 and Visual Studio 2005 to be comfortable and productive with the SSIS tools and technologies. In this course students will learn about the SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and building Database Maintenance Plans. Students will also be introduced to the Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) and working with Control Flow and Data Flow. Students will also become familiar with SSIS package management and package deployment along with learning to write solid code using debugging, error handling and logging techniques.

Course Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Use the SQL Server Management Studio tool to build database maintenance plans.
  • Work with Business Intelligence Development Studio.
  • Work with Control Flow and Data Flow.
  • Create and deploy SSIS packages.
  • Debug and handle errors in code.
  • Use logging techniques.

Course Audience:

This course is designed for technology professionals with little or no ETL experience and minimal exposure to SQL Server 2005 and Visual Studio 2005 who desire a better understanding of SSIS tools and technologies.

Course Prerequisites:

This course assumes no prior knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services. This course does assume prior knowledge of SQL Server 2005 and basic use of SQL Server Management Studio. Other tools used in this course include Notepad, Microsoft Excel, and basic features of Windows.
