Microsoft Excel is the world's most widely used spreadsheet application — and SkillForge has been teaching it since 2010. Our live, instructor-led Excel courses are available for every skill level, from complete beginners learning to navigate a spreadsheet for the first time, to experienced analysts building complex financial models, interactive dashboards, and VBA-powered automation tools.
What our Excel courses cover: Introduction courses focus on spreadsheet navigation, data entry, basic formulas (SUM, AVERAGE, IF), formatting, sorting, filtering, and creating charts. Intermediate courses build on that foundation with more advanced functions (VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, nested IFs), PivotTables, conditional formatting, and data validation. Advanced courses tackle array formulas, Power Query, Power Pivot, data modeling, and complex dashboard design. Our VBA course teaches you to record and write macros, automate repetitive tasks, and build custom user forms.
All courses are available as open-enrollment public sessions or as private group training for your organization. Private sessions can be customized to your team's specific Excel version, industry, and workflow.

Analyzing data to find issues, insights, and opportunities is now a critical part of many job roles. Beyond the analysis, data analysts in all job roles must be able to effectively present and communicate their findings in visually compelling ways. Microsoft Excel is designed for this purpose. These capabilities enable people who use Excel for data analysis to turn data into thoughtful action. In this Excel Data Analysis and Visualization Training course, students will learn how to connect to a wide range of data sources, perform data analysis, create diverse and robust data-based visualizations to show insights and trends, and create reports.
In this Microsoft Excel Advanced training course, students will learn how to use features in Excel to collaborate with colleagues, automate complex or repetitive tasks, and use conditional logic to construct and apply complex formulas and functions. Students will see how to create Links and External References to Worksheets and Workbooks, use Lookup functions like VLOOKUP and HLOOKUP, and watch and evaluate formulas to find and fix logic errors. Students will also learn how to protect worksheets and workbooks from inadvertent changes being made, apply data validation to ensure correct data is entered in the worksheet and will see how to use Macros to automate common tasks in Excel. Finally, students will learn about visualizing data using Sparklines and Maps and how to forecast data trends in Excel.
In this Microsoft Excel Intermediate Training class, students will learn how to build on their Excel skills by using named ranges in Excel, inserting Excel Functions such as IF and SUMIF, using comparison operators such as AND, OR and NOT and using Date Functions such as DATE and NOW. In addition, students will see how to manipulate text using Text Functions like UPPER, LOWER and CONCATENATE. Students will also learn about using Lists in Excel and sorting and filtering data in lists. Students will be exposed to Database functions such as DSUM and how to work with and format tables in Excel. Modifying and formatting Charts in Excel will also be explored in this course. And, finally, students will learn how to analyze date using PivotTables, PivotCharts, Timelines and Slicers.
In this Microsoft Excel Introduction Training course, students will learn how to create worksheets in Microsoft Excel, how to use formulas and perform calculations, how to format cells and worksheets, how to setup worksheets for printing and how to export data from Excel to various other formats, including PDF. This course assumes no prior experience with Excel and is a great starting point for those who are new to the program or for those who may have some familiarity but want to take their knowledge further.
Power Pivot is a powerful data exploration tool based on in-memory computing technologies that provides unmatched analytical performance to process billions of rows almost instantaneously. In this Microsoft Excel Power Pivot Training course, students will learn how to use Power Pivot to import and manipulate data, create Power Pivot reports, use DAX functions, create key performance indicators (KPI) and use slicers to enhance the visualization of data.
In this Microsoft Excel VBA Training course, students will learn to use VBA in Excel to create interactive worksheets and automate common worksheet tasks. Students will see how to generate VBA code from existing macros, gain an understanding of the different parts of the Visual Basic Editor, learn how code is organized in Projects, Modules and Procedures and become familiar using Objects, Properties and Methods in their code. In addition, this course teaches students how to debug their VBA code to find and fix logic errors, interact with the user using dialog boxes, control formatting of the worksheet using VBA code and how to automate the addition and deletion of workbooks. Finally, students will see how to perform calculations in code and use built-in functions in Excel in VBA to quickly calculate large amounts of data.
Using AI with Excel is a hands‑on, scenario‑driven course that teaches professionals how to use freely available generative AI tools—such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot—to enhance productivity, solve spreadsheet‑related problems, and accelerate data‑driven decision‑making. Learners discover how to generate spreadsheet content, automate tasks, troubleshoot formulas, clean and structure data, and strategically apply AI to real business challenges. The course blends conceptual understanding with practical exercises using Microsoft Excel.
Note: Students in this class will create ChatGPT, Gemini and/or Copilot accounts if they don't already have one. Access to a valid email and cell phone in order to complete authentication during setup will be needed to participate in hands-on exercises.
