Once you've got the basics of Crystal Reports down, the real limitations show up fast: reports that need to summarize just a slice of the data instead of a flat subtotal, data spread across tables that aren't directly related, or formulas complex enough that a single expression won't get the job done. This course tackles those exact problems — running totals with real control over what's included, subreports that pull together otherwise unrelated data, SQL written directly inside Crystal Reports for speed and precision, and cross-tab reports and charts that summarize large datasets at a glance.

By the end of the course, students will also know how to build more advanced formulas using loops and arrays, and how to extend a finished report with dynamic images, alerts, and geographic maps.

Many organizations rely on manually built or exported spreadsheet reports because no one on the team has been trained on the reporting tools already available to them. Crystal Reports is designed specifically for building structured, reusable, professional reports from underlying data — but without training, most new users only ever use a small fraction of its capability.
