Microsoft Power BI Training

This course is intended for professionals responsible for reporting, analysis, or business intelligence, including analysts, finance and operations professionals, and anyone currently relying on static spreadsheets for recurring reporting.

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

• Connect Power BI to a wide range of data sources, consolidating information that currently lives in separate spreadsheets, databases, and systems into a single reporting environment
• Build interactive visualizations that go beyond what is possible in a spreadsheet, allowing viewers to explore data rather than read a static snapshot
• Design dashboards and reports that highlight trends and insights, rather than simply displaying raw numbers, making it easier for decision-makers to act on the information presented
• Create responsive, shareable reports that stay current as underlying data updates, reducing the manual work involved in maintaining recurring reports
• Build cohesive data stories that combine multiple visualizations into a single, structured narrative for stakeholders or leadership

No prior experience with Power BI is required. Familiarity with basic data concepts (such as working with rows, columns, and simple calculations in Excel) is helpful but not required.

Power BI is easy to open and difficult to use well — the challenge for most new users is not the interface, it is knowing which visualization fits a given question, or why a data model is not behaving as expected. These are exactly the kinds of issues that a live instructor can resolve in the moment, using the actual report the student is building.

Students also retain up to one year of access to a recording of the session and six months of post-class instructor support, which is particularly useful when building the first real dashboard for a team or stakeholder after the course ends.
